General Information: The capital of Hubei Province and one of the major cities in China,is composed of nine districts, two suburbs and two nearbycounties,with an area of 8467 sq km and a population of 7.28 million.Located in the central part of China, where the Yangtze River, the third biggest in the world meets its biggest tributary the Han River, Wuhan is divided by the two rivers into 3 towns, named Hankou, Hanyang and Wuchang. Wuhan Tourism: Wuhan, the "Homeland of White Clouds and Yellow Crane", is composed of three parts: Hankou, Hanyang and Wuchang. Not many people go out of their way to get to Wuhan, one of China¡¯s largest cities, but a lot of people pass through the place since it is the terminus of the Yangtze Ferries from Chongqing. Wuhan is now enjoying a boom in foreign and local investment that may help it match up with the sparkling cosmopolitan citadels of Nanjing and Shanghai.
However, there are many scenic spots and historical sites in Wuhan to visit, including the European-style buildings remained along the Yanjiang Street, Hongshan Square, Yellow Crane Tower with the 1,700 years history, one of the three famous towers in South China, the East Lake whose natural beauty rivals that of the West Lake in Hangzhou; the TV Tower on Tortoise Hill known as the highest mast of Asia; the ancient Guiyuan Temple, and the modern International Amusement Park.
Transport in Wuhan: Aviation
Wuhan Tianhe Airport is 3,400 meters long and 60 meters wide, able to facilitate the arrival and departure of a Boeing 747-400. Between the city and airport runs an expressway which is 17.8km long. It takes 20 minutes to cover the distance by car. Every day, there is a direct scheduled flight between Wuhan and Hongkong. There is also the opening of the direct airline between Wuhan and Bangkok, Fukuoka of Japan and Marco. With the valid credentials concerned, air tickets can be booked or bought at any ticket office or designated ticket agency set up by the airline. Ticket offices are set up in star-class hotels as well.
Highway
Wuhan sees out more than 4,000 long-distance buses everyday. The coaches which start from Wuhan every day, may take passengers to such destinations as Nanjing, Nanchang, Hefei, Changsha and Zhengzhou the very same day. Most Long-distance buses with beds instead of chairs and air-conditioning, therefore, the long-distance journey will be comfortable.
