The Golden Gulf Hotel (Jinshuiwan dajiudian) is a three star hotel located in the center of Luoyang city, 10km away from the airport,and 2km from the railway station. It has a total of 158 rooms and all are equipped with DDD/IDD telephones, satellite TV, minibar and central air-conditioning. Some of the rooms are equipped with internet access. In addition,there are several restaurants serving Chinese and western food. For recreation, there is a disco, a billiards room, a sauna, a beauty salon and a massage. There is also various size meeting rooms, all equipped with advanced audio visual system.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel to others. The hotel only accepts UnionPay credit cards and does not accept foreign credit cards, and so I had to walk around Luoyang in the pouring rain to find a Bank of China ATM before I was even allowed to check-in. The reception staff do not speak English, and had I not been able to speak and write a little Chinese we would have been unable to communicate at all. Also, the hotel does not do food at all - the only 'facility' other than the rooms themselves is a KTV Bar. And the toilet broke! Although the staff were very patient and helpful given that we could hardly communicate, this hotel is sadly the worst I have ever stayed at in China in more than 10 years.
