Japanese delegation visits Expo Bureau

Sakaiya Taiti, representative of the Japanese corporate pavilion at Shanghai Expo, yesterday discussed its plans with Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.

Hong said the participation of Japanese corporations would contribute to friendly Sino-Japanese ties and hoped Japanese officials would sign a contract with organizers soon.

Sakaiya Taiti said work on the pavilion was underway and the current financial turmoil would not affect preparations. The pavilion would be recyclable and probably one of the most popular pavilions at the 2010 Expo, he added.
