Nanchang Hotels

Situated in the northwestern tip of Lake Poyang and surrounded by mountains and rivers with a beautiful scenery, Jiujiang acquired its name in the Qin Dynasty because Ganjiang and eight other waterways flow into Lake Poyang. Jiujiang, one of the important ports on the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, is known for the gateway of Jiangxi. Jiujiang with strategic importance is dotted with lakes, seeming that the city is located in a natural park.

Lushan Seni Area:

Mt. Lushan, situated on south bank of the Yangtze River and the bank of Lake Poyang, has 99 peaks. Of them the highest, known as Dahanyang Peak, is 1,474 meters above sea level. It is one of the renowned summer resorts in China and has been cited by the UNESCO as one of the world "cultural landscapes".

Wulao Peak:

With the best landscape among the peaks of Mt Lushan, its fourth peak is the highest one and its third one is most precipitous. Far in the distance lies Lake Poyang with a vast expanse of misty and rolling waters. At the foot of the peak are stranger pines, grotesque stones and flying clouds.

Hanpokou:

Hanpokou is the best location for visitors to view sunrise and the sea of clouds. The best time is from mid October to the first half of April. The red sun rises slowly from Lake Poyang, adding radiance to the peak.

Three-Cascade Waterfall:

The Three-Cascade Waterfall is the biggest one on Mt Lushan. Natural and humane landscapes gather together in the scenic area dotted with Nine- Cascade Screen, Yuchuan Gate, Tianmen Pond and Wulao Peak. The scenic area is linked with the White Deer Academy, Xiufeng Peak and other scenic spots. All blend into one harmonious whole and bring out the best in each other.

Lake Gantang:

Located in the city proper of Jiujiang, Lake Gantang was the place where Zhou Yu, general and navy governor of the Eastern Wu, drilled the navy and deployed troops during the Three Kingdoms. The base of Yanshui Pavilion was the place where Zhou Yu calied the muster roll of the troops and assigned them tasks.

Lake Zhelin:

Situated on the middle reaches of Xiuhe River and striding over Yongxiu and Wuning counties, is a man-made high-gorge flat lake. The lake is known for its vast lake surface, b1uish waves, extending green peaks on its banks, surrounding mountains that look like the billows of the sea, dotted islets, green trees and singing birds.

Lake Poyang:

Located in the northem part of Jiangxi, is the biggest fresh-water lake in China. It boasts a wide expanse of mist-covered waters, a beautiful and fascinating lake scenery, Mt Shizhong, Mt Xieshan, the Longgong Karst Cave and other natural sceneries. The world-renowned migrant bird protection zone is the biggest area of migrant birds from all parts of the world for winter.

Donglin Temple:

Located at the northwestern slope of Mt Lushan and built in 386 by Hui Yuan, a noted monk of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Donglin Temple is the birthplace of the Pure Land Sect of Chinese Buddhism.

Mt. Shizhong(Stone Bell):

Mt. Shizhong is located on the southeastern bank at the confluence of the Yangtze River and Lake Poyang and known as the "Lock and Key on the south of the Yangtze River". Standing on Mt. Shizhong and viewing the confluence of the river and lake, the river water is muddy and the lake water is clean, clearly demarcating the two colors. Over 500 celebrities of the past dynasties have left more than 1,000 poems and songs.
