Located in the middle of Yan'an Region on the middle reaches of the Yanhe
River, it covers an area of 3,556 square kilometers. An ancient city, it is known
as the center for the Anti-Japanese War and reputed to be a Sacred Land of
Revolution where the CPC Central Committee was located.
Mt.Baota:
Also known as Mt.Jialing. it stands along the eastern bank of the Yanhe River, at an elevation of 1,076.3 meters. On the mountain is a pagoda erected in re Tang Dynasty, hence its name. From the 44- meter-high pagoda one can get a panoramic view of the whole city. The pagoda is also a symbolic structure for the Sacred Land of Revolution. 
The Tomb of the Yellow Emperor:
Located in Huangling County. 190 kilometers from Xi an. it is where the Yellow Emperor, founder of the Chinese nation, rests. Hemmed in by ancient, luxuriant pines and cypresses on mountain slopes, it is a sacred land for the Chinese people, at home and abroad, to worship their ancestors.
The Pot Spout Waterfall:
Located at the junction of Yichuan County Shaanxi, and Jixian County, Shanxi. 360 kilo- meters from Xi'an, it is a waterfall 40 meters wide, dropping 30 meters from the Yellow River. which passes through a great gorge on the Loess Plateau. The magnificent view wins it a reputation, the largest waterfall over the Yellow River.
