First thing that hit me was how the camera tells things not exactly as they appear to be. Panoramic view of room on website looked great - big double bed & large room. Reality was bed OK but took up all the space in room. No wardrobe or drawers to put clothes so lived out of suitcase for 12 days. No minibar so need to buy own booze outside, which is cheap. No bar in hotel. On plus side bed was clean and relatively comfortable albeit rock hard mattress. Cleaning staff do their best and keep room clean. Air conditioning goes off each night around 0200 hrs so wake up in pool of sweat. Walls paper thin so can hear averything going on in adjoining rooms. Reception staff do not speak English but try hard; one lass named Bella who was very helpful. Location brilliant; heart of city. Don't worry about adjoining night food market since it shuts @ 2200 hrs and cleaned up remarkably quickly & efficiently. Would I go back? Perversely probably yes although don't stay too long. 4 nights max. Surrounded by good & cheap resturants & travel excursion desk located in foyer. They were very helpful and pleasant.

The hotel is near a number of attractions, including the Wanfujing street food where we were ripped off. The room looked old and the wall paper was chipping off. The bathroom looked unsanitary with its wooden floor. The room had poor acoustics as we can hear noises from the next rooms and corridor. The personnel at the reception should be more accommodating and kinder – considering they got awards in 2008/2010 as a hotel that serves foreign guests well (I forgot exactly the name of the award, but something to this effect). Miss Xie at the Business Center/Tour Table at the ground floor was very accommodating and helpful.

The room price is very reasonable considering it is very near the Bund and other commercial establishments. However, breakfast needs to be improved to include those that cater to the taste of non-Chinese guests. Also the people at the reception should be more accommodating and kind.

we got a better room. Now, I think that it is acceptable. However, it has no bath tub or shower base. It still hasn´t closet to keep our clothes, but the space is bigger and it has a better cleaness. Thank you for your help to solve this issue.

The welcome was generally okay. However, I guess it would have been a wonderful experience if the attendants could communicate in English. Communication was a real challenge.

This hotel's location is as perfect as it gets, close to everything. The rooms were clean and comfortable and everything functioned perfectly. The coffee bar has great cappuchino and the travel agent desk was most helpful with whatever we wanted to know. We did not have breakfast, but what we saw on the breakfast table looked good. We will use this hotel again for sure.

Room very little and with a window opening on a corridor: no air! Employees professional and kind and good breakfast. Good location.
