Brazilian delegation visits Expo Bureau

Delegation members and Expo officials check the master plan of Shanghai World Expo.

A delegation led by Clodoaldo Hugueney, newly-appointed Brazilian ambassador to China, today exchanged views with Shanghai World Expo organizers on its exhibition at the event.

Huang Jianzhi, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, expressed gratitude to the government of Brazil for its great support of Expo 2010 and called on the country to start construction of its pavilion as early as possible.

Huang said most self-built pavilions were scheduled to begin construction before the start of next year. Organizers were open to advice from all parts, Huang added.

The ambassador said Brazil's active participation in Expo 2010 showed the country attached great importance to its political and economic ties with China. He noted that the Expo would provide an opportunity for the Chinese people to learn more about Brazil.
