Ecuador keen on Shanghai Expo

The delegation visit the master plan hall of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo in the Expo Mansion.

Ecuador will seize the Shanghai World Expo as an opportunity to enhance friendship with China and showcase its culture, Ecuador's deputy trade minister said yesterday.

The trade official, Eduardo Egas, visited the Expo Bureau and said the government has launched a nationwide selection for its 2010 Expo theme. The Expo theme is "Better City, Better Life".

Egas said the South American country hoped to offer a perfect exhibition and will sign an official participation contract in November.

Huang Jianzhi, deputy director general of the bureau, welcomed Egas, gave a progress report on the Expo and expressed confidence that Ecuador's exhibition would be impressive.

Ecuador will exhibit in a joint pavilion for South American and Central American countries.
