Expo urges greater US participation

World Expo organizers are keen for even greater participation by United States government and US enterprises in the 2010 fair in Shanghai.

Zhou Hanmin, deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, urged greater US involvement when he met Christopher Hill, US assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific Affairs.

In their meeting last Tuesday, Zhou said the 2010 Expo would be a great opportunity for the US to showcase its image and further advance the friendship between the two peoples.

Hill said the US government would make an all-out effort to prepare the US Pavilion and encourage US enterprises to take part.
