Great Harbor in the East Ningbo

Composed of three harbor regions including Beilun, Zhenhai and Ningbo, naturally protected by the Zhoushan Archipelago, the Ningbo Harbor is one of the four greatest international deepwater ports of China. 17 sets of 25,000-ton trade berth have been built in the harbor that can even berth the 30,000-ton super-freighter and the international container of the 5th generation. The handling capacity of cargo of the whole harbor in 1998 is listed the second in China. At present shipping lines to 518 harbors of 84 countries worldwide have been opened in the Ningbo Harbor.

Zhenhaikou Coastal Defense Relics Ningbo

Zhenhaikou Coastal Defense Relics, also called "the Door of East Zhejiang" and "the Magnificent Town between the Sky and the Sea", lies on the exit of the Yongjiang River of Ningbo. Being a part of the Zhaobao Mountain Scenic Site, it is a strategically important area hard to access, and a place, which all strategists wanted to control; therefore, it was a major defense base of the southeast coast of China in history.

Being one of the major battlefields in the Anti-Japanese and Anti-British wars,a castle built on the mountain by the name of "Weiyuan Castle", contains a lot of well preserved coastal defense relics which are large in scale and rich in type. It is one of the major historical and cultural sites under the state protection and one of the state patriotism education bases. President Jiang Zemin, the General Secretary of CPC, inscribed the name for the Historical Memorial of the Zhenhaikou Coastal Defense newly built on the Zhenhaikou Coastal Defense Relics.

Shipu Harbor Ningbo

Also named as the Ligang Harbor, the Shipu Harbor, 27 square km in area 4-33 meters in depth, running from northeast to southwest, is a closed harbor shaping like a crescent moon which can berth thousands of fishing boats and hold ten-thousand-ton seagoing vessels. Inside the harbor, the sea is always calm and peaceful. Being one of the four largest fishing harbors in China, the Shipu Harbor is a famous trade harbor in the southeast coast of China.

The Aquatic Products Town of China inside the Shipu Harbor is the largest aquatic products market in China. When night falls, the glimmering fishing lights together with the luxurious twinkling stars compose a flourishing night view of the Shipu Harbor.
