The Royal Danish Embassy presents its compliments to the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and has the honour to
confirm on behalf of its Government the understanding reached between
the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Government of the
People's Republic of China on the basis of mutual wishes to further
develop friendly relations between the two countries.
1. The Government of the People's Republic of China gives its
consent to the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark to establish a
Consulate General in Guangzhou, with the consular district comprising
Guangdong Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Fujian Province
and Hainan Province.
2. The Government of the Kingdom of Denmark also gives its consent
to reserve the right for the Government of the People's Republic of
China to establish a Consulate General in Denmark in the future. The
seat and the consular district will be discussed through diplomatic
channels in the future.
3. In accordance with the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of
24 April 1963 and the relevant laws and regulations of the respective
countries, each party shall provide all necessary assistance and
convenience for the establishment of the Consulate-General of the other
Party and the performance of their consular functions.
4. In accordance with international practice as well as
international law, including the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations
of 24 April 1963, and on the basis of reciprocity, the two Parties shall
solve possible problems concerning their consular relations through
friendly consultations.
Upon the confirmation by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the
People's Republic of China in a note of reply, this note and the reply
note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall constitute an agreement
between the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark and the Government of
the People's Republic of China, which shall enter into force from the
date of the reply note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Royal Danish Embassy avails itself of this opportunity to renew
to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China the
assurance of its highest consideration.
