China to Hold World Heritage Exhibition

China's Ministry of Construction announced on Monday that a world heritage exhibition will be held in Suzhou, a scenic city of east China's Jiangsu Province, from June 26 to July 15. As part of the 28th Session of the World Heritage Committee, which was scheduled from June 28 to July 7 in Suzhou, the exhibition will exhibit the 754 world heritages in 129 countries around the world, said Wang Fengwu, an official with the ministry. Wang said China will exhibit its 29 world heritage sites, of which 21 are cultural, four are natural and four are both. The most famous ones are the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Mount Taishan, Mount Huangshan and Jiuzhaigou. The exhibition is co-sponsored by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Chinese National Commission for UNESCO, China's Ministry of Construction and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. |
