Investment in airport construction to reach 200 billion yuan next year

China will invest 30 billion yuan in the civil aviation sector this year and the investment will reach 200 billion yuan next year, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
The investment will be used on building new and expanding existing trunk line airports in western China, including Kunming, Chongqing and Nanning.
The investment will also help construction of new airports and expansion of existing feeder line airports in cities including Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Tengchong in Yunnan Province.
According to information, in 2009, the government plans to start construction on hub and trunk line airports in cities such as Chengdu, Xi'an and Guangzhou, as well as over 40 feeder line airports in cities including Yan'an, Luliang and Huaian. In 2010, investment in construction will reach 250 billion yuan. |
