This tour is a great introduction to China, which is also an ideal for the first time visitor, a less demanding itinerary than our longer featured tours. Experience China's scenic, historical and cultural sites including the capital of Beijing, the Terracotta Army in Xi'an, the picturesque Chengde and the modern metropolis - Shanghai city.
Day 1 Beijing
On arrival, CITS guide will hold a welcome sign to meet you. You will be transferred to the the Grand View Garden Hotel **** for a three-night stay on a room and breakfast basis. The rest of the day is free to relax.

(L+D) ♦ Day 2 Beijing
Morning:
Take a half-day excursion to explore the incredible Forbidden City with its grand palaces and courtyards. Built in 1420, it was here that 24 emperors lived and ruled for over 500 years. The South Gate leads you to Tian'anmen Square - the biggest of its kind in the world.
Afternoon:
Continue to the beautiful Summer Palace where you can discover gardens, palaces and pavilions with temples and halls in a tranquil, landscaped lakeside setting.

(B+L+D) ♦ Day 3 Beijing
Morning:
You will take a half-day guided visit to the awesome Great Wall -Mutianyu section. This section is well preserved and is a good alternative for visitors who would like to avoid crowds along the highly popular Badaling section.
Afternoon:
Continue to the Ming Tomb, which due to their enormity took over 200 years to complete. And walk along the Sacred Way, which means the road leading to heaven.
Evening:
Dinner is served at the original, century-old Quanjude Roasted Duck Restaurant. After dinner a fascinating Peking Opera Show will be presented to you at the Liyuan Theatre.

(B+L+D) ♦ Day 4 Beijing to Chengde
Morning:
Explore the Temple of Heaven which itself has become a symbol of the city. Here ancient emperor worshipped God and prayed for harvest.
Afternoon:
Transfer to take the train for Chengde which is the former summer retreat of the Manchu Emperors.

(B+L+D) ♦ Day 5 Chengde
Morning:
A half-day touring to see the Summer Mountain Resort - the largest royal landscape in China today.
Afternoon:
Visit the Puning Temple, Putuoo Temple - a stunning replica of Potala Palace in Tibet and Local market.

(B+L+D) ♦ Day 6 Chengde to Beiiing to Xi'an
Morning:
Depart by private car to Beijing to connect with your flight to the ancient capital of Xi'an.
Afternoon:
Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel and have a good rest.

(B+L+D) ♦ Day 7 Xi'an
Morning:
Full day visit the world-famous Terracotta Warriors where life-sized infantrymen, archer, officers and their horses symbolically guard the tomb of the first Qin emperor.
Afternoon:
Visit the dramatic Wild Goose Pagoda and the Banpo Museum which is the site of a typical Neolithic matriarchal community dating back about 6,000 years.
Evening:
After dinner you will be entertained with the marvelous Tang Dynasty Show.

(B+L+D) ♦ Day 8 Xi'an to Shanghai
Morning:
City tour includes a visit to the city Wall that still compasses the center of Xi'an.
Afternoon:
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Meet the guide and transfer to the hotel. You could take walk along the famous waterfront to fully appreciate this diverse city for the rest of the day.

Morning:
Visit the Shanghai Museum with its collection of ancient Chinese Art of bronze, ceramics, painting and calligraphy.
Afternoon:
Continue the Yu Garden, which has over 30 pavilions, linked by a maze of corridors and bridges. And Jade Buddha Temple where two rare jade statues of Sakyamuni Buddha is treasured.
Evening:
Enjoy an acrobatic show at the Portman Ritz-Carlton Hotel for your entertainment after dinner.
