Denmark will turn its pavilion into a fairy tale world for the World Expo, a representative of the European country said today.
Visitors will enjoy a fairy tale experience in the Danish pavilion as well as learning about the casual and harmonious lifestyle of its people, Finn Lauritzen, of the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority, said at a signing ceremony with Expo organizers in Shanghai.
The Denmark Pavilion, "The Dream City," will comprise two large circles. Visitors can ride bicycles around the pavilion. The pavilion will include a small artificial beach for swimming or sunbathing. The Danes will also have fields throughout their pavilion so visitors can have picnics there just as the Danes themselves do.
The country wants to improve the world's understanding of the Danish people and their country's life styles and culture, said Steen Christensen, Denmark's commissioner general for World Expo 2010.

The Danish exhibition will be of great value to the city government on how to maintain a harmonious society, said Zhou Hanmin, the deputy director general of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination.
Denmark confirmed its participation in the Expo in June, 2006. It will build a 3,000-square meter pavilion for the Expo.
Odense City's use of bicycles in urban life has been chosen as a Urban Best Practice Area case for the Expo.
