PAZHOU COMPLEX, THE VENUE OF CANTON FAIR
The Pazhou Complex is located in Pazhou Island at Southeast of Guangzhou . Here there are the functions of meeting, exhibition and commercial negotiation of Canton Fair. The Pazhou Complex has a modern architecture (inspired by the "flowing" of Pearl River) that combines hi-tech, efficiency and ecological conceptions. The roof utilizes large span space truss of prestressed sustained steel tube, composed by 15000 tons of steel. The surface is made of frosted stainless steel, the external walls (in the north, east and west) are made of glass (58000sqm), giving to the construction a modern and spectacular appearance. The center of the principal building is planned to be Pearl Promenade that serves as passage to reach the various sites of the exhibition. The Walkway is 450meter long and 30meter wide. Every 90 meters there are elevators, lifts and stairs. The Terminal Promenade in the east of the main building ensures a vast parking space.
