Ukraine, co-host of Euro 2010, will learn from World Expo 2010 in Shanghai how to put on a grand show, Vice Prime Minister Ivan Vasiunyk said yesterday at the Expo Bureau.
Poland is the other host of the European Expo.
Vasiunyk made the comments in a meeting with Hua Junduo, China’s commissioner general for the World Expo. The East European leader also said the six-month Shanghai event would deepen understanding between Ukraine and China.
Ukraine was the first nation to sign an official Expo contract (May 2007) and has a good start on its preparations, said the vice prime minister. He promised that the Ukraine Pavilion will be one of the most attractive. Its theme will be “From Ancient City to Modern City.”
So far 223 nations, regions and institutions have declared participation or signed participation contracts for the event themed “Better City, Better Life.”
