CECF (Pazhou) Complex
The Pazhou Complex is situated in Pazhou Island at Guangzhou southeast. The Canton Fair assembles in this venue the functions of meeting, exhibition and commercial negotiation. All this happens within a modern architecture that combines hi-tech, efficiency and ecological conceptions.
Area: The Pazhou Complex covers an area of 700000sqm and is the largest exhibition center in Asia. The whole construction occupies an area of 395000sqm. The fair takes place in 16 exhibition halls, the area of indoor exhibition halls is 160000sqm and the area of outdoor exhibition sites is 22000sqm. The exhibition hall at the ground floor has height of 13 meters, the second floor is 8.90 to 19 meters high. It can provide a extraordinary high space for all kinds of exhibitions. At the second floor there are five huge halls without poles, even when the hall covers about 10000m². There are entrances and exits in both of the south and north sides, therefore the exhibition halls can be united for exhibitions as well as separated.
Roof and Walls. The roof utilizes large span space truss of prestressed sustained steel tube, composed by 15000 tons of steel. The surface is made of frosted stainless steel, the external walls (in the north, east and west) are made of glass (58000sqm), giving to the construction a modern and spectacular appearance.
Project Criteria. to set the project of Pazhou Complex the architects were inspired by the "flowing" of Pearl River. The wave like rooftop creates harmony between the structure and the river and the buildng is integrated seamlessly with the surrounding environment. This style of design is unparalleled in all of the exhibition centers in the world.
Pearl Walkway: The center of the principal building is planned to be Pearl Promenade that serves as passage to reach the various sites of the exhibition. The Walkway is 450meter long and 30meter wide. Every 90 meters there are elevators, lifts and stairs. The Terminal Promenade in the east of the main building functions to ensure the parking space for big number of incoming vehicles. |
