The Taishan Hotel is one of the best places to stay in town. This five storey hotel isconveniently located at the entrance to the main Taishan trail on Hongmen Road. To the south is the Dai Temple and to the north is a stone archway that Confucius reportedly oncepassed through. This three star hotel was built in 1980 and now has now has 110 well-equipped rooms and11 dining halls. The hotel restaurants are well known for their exquisite Beancurd Banquet! Other facilities include a gym, health clinic, souvenir shops and a ticket office. TheBank of China is also nearby.

Great location bit dirty...especially ceilings which were filthy. no breakfast included bit overpriced

I liked the hotel, except for the breakfast. I'm used to Chinese breakfasts, but this one just didn't have anything to recommend it. The staff was friendly and the room was large and comfortable. My main problem was I didn't like Kaifeng. The whole city is shabby and rundown, even the attractions. And the street outside was loud and noisy even by Chinese standards, nonstop horn honking from 7 a.m. until after 10 at night. One big plus is the steetside food market just a block or two away. If you can't find something to eat here, you won't find it anywhere. Cheap and delicious.

Generally, the hotel is really good although relatively overpriced. Breakfast buffet is perfect, pity it was not included :) Staff is really good; people working at the hotel's shop should get 12 of 10.
