General Information: Ganzhou (or Kanchow ), in the Jiangxi province, on the Ganjiang River. It is a large transportation, distribution, and commercial center.
Geography: Ganzhou is located on the upper reaches of the Ganjiang River, in southern Jiangxi Province
Ganzhou Economy: Fertilizer and wood products are manufactured in the city, and tungsten and tin mines are nearby.
History: First established in the early Western Han Dynasty more than 2,100 years ago, Ganzhou has been the economic and cultural center. It is an ancient city with the best-preserved historical sites of the Song Dynasty in the country. The city was formerly known as Ganxian.
Arrive: The city enjoys convenient transportation with the Beijing-Kowloon Railway passing by and the Zhangjiang and Gongjiang rivers running through.
Ganzhou Attractive points: Ciyun Dagoba Located in downtown Ganzhou, Ciyun Dagoba was erected in 1023 in the Northern Song Dynasty. Towering 42 meters high, it was laid with bricks. Standing on top of the dagoba, one can get a panoramic view of the city. Jade Rainbow Pagoda Also known as the White Pagoda, the Jade Rainbow was built during 1573 and 1620 in the Ming Dynasty, seven kilometers north of Ganzhou City. It was named after the bridge nearby. Ancient City Wall Located in Panlong Town on the southeastern outskirts of Ganzhou, the city wall was built in 552 in the Southern Dynasty. It is 6,900 meters long, 5 meters tall, and 6.5 meters wide, with five gates. After innovations in the past dynasties, the city wall has been well preserved. Confucian Temple Situated in southwestern Ganzhou, the imposing Confucian Temple covers 9,000 square meters in area. It is the largest Confucian temple under the best preservation in Jiangxi. The buildings in the temple were constructed in the styles of the north and south in China. Tongtian Rock Standing 12 kilometers northwest of Ganzhou, Tongtian Rock is a scenic spot of Danxia landformation, consisting of many oddlyshaped rocks, such as Wanggui, Tongxin, Tongtian, and Cuiwei. It is a unit of relics under the state protection.
