General Information:
Huaibei was a coal-producing city in Anhui Province, now projecting to become a tourist city.
Nature:
Huaibei has a vast areas of fallen land, with 38 shallow lakes dotting 14,700 ha of flat land, small hills and gentle slopes
Huaibei Economy:
Huaibei is located in the major wheat production zone of the Yellow river and Huaihe River valley. It has an annual output of 500million kg wheat. Tianhong Group has made a breakthrough in functional bio-food research and two if its functional bio-food research projects have been authenticated as provincial level scientific& technological achievements.
History:
Centuries of coal mining had left 150 sq.km. of unusable land to a city of 200 sq.km., causing huge losses of farmland, roads, bridges, water conservation facilities and forcing many farmers to leave their homes.
Huaibei Tourism:
Huaibei has an ambitious plan to build a holiday resort on the land, which will have seven golf courses, including six good enough for international championship play. The plan also includes ecological tourism, modern agriculture, high-tech zones and luxury real estate projects.
