General Information: Huainan is a large-sized energy city that is located in the hinterland of east China and the middle part of Huai River. Established after 1949 as the center of China's chief coal-mining region, it is the site of a major colliery.
Geography: It is located at the shore of the beautiful and fertile Huai River.
Climate: Huainan is blessed with an outstanding geographical position belonging go the warm temperature zone with monsoon climate with four distinctive seasons. The annual temperature is 15¡ã and the annual average rainfall is 970mm.
Huainan Economy: At present chemicals, iron, steel, and machinery are produced, and food and tobacco are processed. The city has also great agricultural products such as wheat, rice, soya bean.
History: Huainan has a long history famous for its cultural exchange center of south and north of China. Early 5000 years ago, there were primitive humankind existing and living here. In the transcription from Xia dynasty to Shang dynasty, people called "HuaiYi" constituted a tribe here. Later, Liuan, the emperor of Huainan in West Han dynasty, recruited intelligent and capable scholars to edit the historical book of "Huai Nan Zi"in Bagongshan and created a common delicious food of bean-curd. Coal production, begun here in the 1930s and expanded during the Japanese occupation (1939-45) of the coalfield, accelerated after 1949 with the discovery of vast new coal reserves. The city grew as a manufacturing center in the 1950s.
Arrive: Huainan is in Province Road 102 and crosses through Fuhe railway which joins Jingjiu and Jinghu Route,78 kilometres west to Fuyang airport, 85kilometres east to Bengbu airport. Huai River within its areas is navigated for four seasons.
Huainan Tourism: The city has a lot of scenic spots and historical sites including the ruins of the famous ancient battlefield "Campaign Feishui; "grave yard of liampo which was the famous general during the Warring State; HuangXie, known as Chun Sheng Monarch; the ruins of "Ancient shouzhou kiln; "the ancient MaoXian Cave and animal fossil group.
