General Information: Hunjiang (¡°muddy river¡±) is located in southern Jilin Province. It borders on China's Changbai Korean Autonomous County, which has the highest concentration of ethnic Koreans in China, and lies less than 30 km (20 mi) northwest of the North Korean border.
Geography: Hunjiang is located on the Hun River southeast of the Longgang Mountains.
Hunjiang Economy: Hunjiang's economy is based on forestry, and iron and copper mining. Tourism is also important.
History: The city was first established as a meeting point for Han Chinese and the peoples of the north during the Han dynasty (206 BC-AD 220).
Hunjiang Culture: Both the culture of the area's Korean population and the Changbai Nature Reserve attract tourists to Hunjiang.
