General Information:
Liupanshui (or Chuchow) is an amalgamation of several towns and rural areas. Three major towns Liuzhi, Shuicheng and Panxian formed this region. This area is nicknamed as a ¡®sea of southern China' to make it is the most important mining areas of Guizhou province.

Geography:
On the east of central Hunan province, on the Xiang River.

Nature:
It is the gateway to Weining and Caohai Lake, where is a paradise of various kinds of birds, including the well-known black-necked crane.
Sprawling over an area of 20sq.km.Weining Caohai is the highest plateau lake in Guizhou. With luxuriant water weeds, it is well known for sightseeing black-necked cranes. It is a national natural reserve which is a 20 sq km freshwater wetland. The lake is regarded as a wetland because of its 2¡ªmeter average depth. Grasses cover about 70% of the lake, giving rise to the name Caihai (Grass Sea) .

Liupanshui Economy:
Liupanshui is an industrial center. It has varied light and heavy manufacturing, and its agricultural sector produces grain, oil crops, vegetables, fruits, hogs, eggs, and poultry.

Arrive:
It is a railroad center for lines running north-south and east-west.

Liupanshui Culture:
Suoga Ecology Museum
43 kms away from Liuzhi City, Suoga Ecology Museum is the first of this kind in China. It lies in a commune district embraced by mountains. Inside the commune inhabit some ethnic people with long angles as their hair dress. More than 4,000 people are distributed in 12 villages. They preserve a rather old and simple tradition, such as the living mode with the men plowing and the women weaving, peculiar style of marriage and funeral ,music and dance with unique style, gorgeous embroidery and elaborate wax printing.

Zhijing Cavern
Zhijing Cavern, also named Daji (Cock fighting) Cavern .involves 11 scenic districts, 47 halls and shrines and more than 150 beautiful spots with magnificent scale, matchless attractions and imposing manners .In the cavern there are numerous stone pillars, stalagmites, stone curtains and stone flowers ,etc. with grotesque shapes, forming a natural karst museum.
Hundred-Li Azalea Belt
Located at the point of 150km on the Guiyang- Bijie High Quality High Way, A Hundred-Li Azalea Belt, a grand natural park, occupies an area of more than 100sq.km. From March to May each year, bright-colored and lush flowers are everywhere, so called ¡°Baili (A Hundred Li) Azalea Belt¡±.
Nankai
Nankai township, 50 km north of Shuicheng, is a important place for visiting Small Flower Miao, especially their traditional big festival ¡®Tiaohuapo' with more than 20,000 people which occurred the fifth of Feb. according to the lunar calendar.
