General Information:
Xingtai is about 110 kilometers south of Shijiazhuang.
Xingtai Tourism:
In the west of the town stands the Tian Ning Si, or Monastery of Celestial Tranquillity, first built under the Tang Dynasty. The present temple dates from the Qing Dynasty, although its style is fourteenth-century Yuan Dynasty. Another temple is Kaiyuan Monastery. It was found under the Tang Dynasty in the Kaiyuan Period (A.D.713-742).
Xingtai Culture:
Xingtai University, located in the city of Xingtai, was founded in 1910 and its original form was the Fourth Normal School of Zhili. It is a poly-subject common university in the south of Hebei Province unifying regular teacher education, full-time non-teacher education, together with pre-job and on-job adult education . Recently, it has mainly focused on teacher education, and aims to establish a comprehensive university including the subjects of liberal arts, science, engineering, economics, law and management .
