General Information: Xinxiang is a modern city with an impressive skyline. The city is 360 miles south of Beijing and 48 miles north of Zhengzhou. Xinxiang covers 2940 square miles. Under its administrative control are ten cities, six counties, four districts, 153 townships, and 3,546 villages.
Geography: Xinxiang is located in the north of Henan Province, to the north of Huanghe River (Yellow River).
Xinxiang Economy: Xinxiang is an important base of industry, grain crops, cotton and oil-bearing crops.
History: The city dates from the Sui dynasty (581-618) and was a small market center before being developed as an industrial center in the 1950s. Xinxiang also served as the capital of the short-lived Pingyuan province between 1949 and 1952.
Arrive: Xinxiang is a rail junction and industrial center at the head of navigation on the Wei River. The Wei, made navigable for small vessels by river improvements in the 1950s, links the city with Tianjin (Tientsin), the main port for Beijing.
Xinxiang Tourism: There are over 30 places of historic interests, mainly including Baiquan scenic zone in Mt. Taihangshan, Bigan temple (the earliest ancestor of Lin Family), the tomb of King Lu.
Xinxiang Attractive points: Xinxiang City Park Xinxiang is both a city of beautiful parks and natural wonders. The natural resources are some 20 kinds, of which the main are cement stone, coal, chalk, refractory clay, barite (paint material and source of barium), marble, dolomite (ceramic material), Iceland spar (used in optical instruments), granite, iron, copper, and aluminium. Underground hot water resources are at a depth of 1600 feet. The daily automatic flow can reach 15,000 cubic meters at a temperature between 28C and 46C. Sports Stadium This is the sports stadium for the city of Xinxiang. It is only one of the 1,000 facilities for cultural activities, entertainment, and sports. There are more than 600 medical care institutions, among which 3 hospitals are in the forefront for their medical treatment level and facilities. Eight guesthouses can accommodate foreign travelers and provide services at an international level. Baiquan Located in the northwest of Huixian City (county-level city) 22 km away from Xinxiang City, it was named Baiquan (hundred Springs) due to numerous fountain holes found on the bottom of the lake. The water area of the lake is up to 34,000 square meters, the deepest point is 3 meters, the temp of water is often about 17 degree centigrade all year around, warm in Winter and cool in Summer, it's very suitable for the people to spend their summer time. Bigan Temple Located in the north of Weihui city 40 km away from the northeast of Xinxiang City, Bigan (senior minister of Shang Dynasty) temple has a history of over 3,000 years since Zhou overthrew Shang Dynasty. The temple was built in 494 BC in Northern Wei Dynasty. It covers a land area of 44,000 square meters. The main buildings include screen wall, front gate, second gate, wood arch, tablets corridor, worship hall, great hall, stone arch, tomb tablets pavilion, etc, it's a holly land for the visitors and descendent of Bigan (Lin families) to worship and pay respect to.
