Nanwan Lake
Located at the place 8 km away from the southwest of Xinyang City, it's one of the earliest big-sized water reservoirs constructed in the country, the dam of the reservoir is 853 meters in length, the maximum water holding capacity is 1.63 billion cubic meters, 50 km can tour by boat. There are many isles in the lake, of which, the renowned isles are the bird isle, monkey isle, azalea isle, summer kill isle, snake isle, swallow tail isle, etc.
Mt. Jigongshan
Located at the place over 40km away from south of Xinyang City, it is about 50 km in perimeter, Mt. Jigongshan scenic area is one of the key scenic area in China. Mt. Jigongshan is the branch of Mt. Dabieshan, the principal peak, the rooster head, also known as dawn crying peak, is 814 meters above sea level, the whole mountain looks like a rooster crying, hence it names rooster mountain. Here, the mountain is grotesque, with clear spring water, even in mid-summer, the temp is also about 23 degree centigrade, it's a nice summer resort.
