General Information:
Zunyi is the centre of the tourist region in north of Guizhou and one of the main historic cultural cities of the state.

Geography:
Situated on the eastern Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, the whole province is a mountainous area with beautiful landscapes.

Climate:
The climate is agreeable. The average temperature in January is 1¡ãC to 10¡ãC , and 17¡ãC to 28¡ãC in July.

Zunyi Economy:
Heavy-industry, textile industry and munitions industry are the most important industries in Zunyi. Zunyi is also honoured as "A land of wine", besides the "Maotai", "Dongjiu", "Xijiu" and "Zhenjiu" are also well-known by everyone.

History:
In January 1935, the Red Army arrived in Zunyi and the Central Committee of the CPC held the world renowned Zunyi Meeting here. And since then the Chinese revolution was pulled through and on the correct path. In addition, both the Sichuan-Guizhou Railway and Highway pass by the city. However, Zunyi City becomes not only the political, economic and cultural centre but also the pivot of the communications in the northern region of Guizhou.

The tourist resources of Zunyi are miraculous and attractive, which are mingled by the natural and humane landscape as a whole. There are scenic spot areas in Zunyi, one belongs to the national level and four, the provincial level. It can provide nearly thousand scenery spots of cultural relics, not only the mysterious and charming view of the Chishui River of primitive simplicity, but also the natural landscape of a vast stretch of bamboo forest and the splashing waterfalls. The richly endowed Long March culture by nature, the liquor culture with distinctive features and the natural landscape with primitive ecological atmosphere bring out the best in each other, making the tourism of Zunyi so many beautiful things.

Cuisine:
Zunyi Mutton Rice Noodles is a traditional snack in Zunyi, the noodles were quite famous as early as the mid-Qing period. Zunyi people fancy mutton, especially in winter.

Cishui scenic resort
Cishui scenic resort is mainly featured in five sorts of natural landscapes, waterfall group, immense forests of bamboo, group of horse chestnut red clouds landform and virgin forests and the historic culture of the Long March. Its well-known beauty spots include Shizhang Cavern waterfall, Hushi Immense Forests of Bamboo, Jingsha vale Horse Chestnut, Shidong Vale Waterfall Group, and Ever-bright Moonlight Lake etc. This area is praised by foreign and domestic experts both as "City of Numerous Waterfalls", "Fatherland of Bamboo" and "First-rate Red Clouds".
Kingdom of Horse Chestnuts
As-preciously sole survived plants, horse chestnuts are attributed to the giant trees which were coexistent with dinosaur during Jurassic Period two hundred million years ago. On the verge of extinction, they are rare and could be found only in few places for its unfortunately suitable latitude. Cishuijingsha is the only natural resort in this province approved by tile State Council for the protection of horse chestnuts. With graceful peaks and ridges, old trees reaching to the skies, fright water falling down and red cliffs. It is an ideal place for ecological travel and scientific survey.
The Zunyi Conference Site
Located on Hongqi Road in the old section of Zunyi, this is a two-storey wood and brick building of combined Chinese and Western architectural styles. In January 1935, the Red Army arrived in Zunyi on their historic Long March and held a conference of great significance there. Listed as a major cultural relic site under state protection, the building now houses the Zunyi Conference Memorial Museum. The slogans written at the time have been preserved.
