the hotel was very convenient. It was clean and the lobby was very nicely appointed. There were no English speaking staff. The air conditioning was marginal at best and the room was still uncomfortable to sleep or be in as a result. Shower drains out to a hole in the floor. Great location, and suited our needs for the brief overnight stay. If I was planning on a longer visit, I would only accept a room if the central air conditioning was actually in full functioning form. "Breakfast" and "amusements" were not part of our trip, so I have placed a value of 0.1, as you have not provided a "not applicable" option.

The accommodation was satisfactory. My only comment is that the room had a heavy smell of cigarette smoke, as well as two ashtrays and a book of matches. The room was posted as a No Smoking room! For North American travelers, this is a major problem and is not well tolerated! Although the English of employees was rather limited, all were friendly and we managed to communicate just fine. I do not speak Chinese, so this is not a criticism! The location, breakfast and cleanliness of the hotel were satisfactory. The other features were not a big priority for me.

The hotel was very confortable. However it was difficult to communicate as nobody spoke English. Furthermore, 2 times employees told us prices which were higher than written.

It was a good experience, clean and very close to the train station. The only problem we had was that the hotel employees didn't spoke english. Ah! and there is not free internet, you must to pay (and forget about wifi).

Employees are dealing with 10 people checking in at the same time, so it took a while. A bit hard also to check out whereas we were late to get our train... A part from this, everything was ok.

Poor English. Found some paper boxes left under a chair, anyway spacious room. Bad service at breakfast where thé looked like hot water, orange juice warm (really warm), not much to eat for Westerner tourists. anyway, it's better than nothing since around only little Chinese bars with only Chinese breakfast. Hotel is right in front of the train station and close to the CITS office. So it was perfect to visit Yungang caves + Hanging Monastery.

English was VERY poor. A lot of noise from outside came into the room (horns, trains,...) Beds were very hard.

while hotel is a bit away from city centre, it is just next to the train station, which can be convenient when needed. Hotel has good standard, very good price, and we found its sauna centre to be probably the best of those we experienced on our trip around Chiona. Datong had also two best restaurants in our experience, which made all the stay there very memorable, including the hotel we stayed in.

good hotel, arriving at seven in the morning by train, my room was ready, clean, nice. There is a bath, but you can only use the shower. Towls were changed twice a day. two oranges were left at night. Breakfast was perfect. Very good for the price, every body was nice, but room service didn`t speak english.

Good hotel, but I asked that they clean the floor of the room as it was dirty from the last occupant, and they did not do this. Also took a long time to check out as they started serving me, then served someone else and I was in a hurry. But generally good. Karen

We had a pleasant stay. The breakfast tables were filthy and some of the food items were questionable for a Western palate. The 40 RMB foot massage was very intense and nice, and the leg of lamb in the Chinese restaurant was deeelicious! We would recommend this hotel for a stay in Datong!
