Hardly any of the staff speaks English. Communication is very difficult. The staff is poorly trained. For example, they serve drinks at a garden table without making any effort to remove the used dishes of the previous guests. They also have no clue how to handle wine. We asked for a cold bottle of the Great Wall white wine which is on display in the hotel. We received a very warm bottle. It is simply impossible to communicate with the staff. The same problem arose in the SPA. The massage was very good, though. |

I was attracted to the picture of the hotel on the website. I booked through China reservation and the booking was smooth. When we got to the hotel we were told we could easily book a taxi from the hotel. This proved to be incorrect. When we wanted a taxi, I was obliged to find one on the street. Then I wanted to go on a trip to see the watchtowers in the area. The advertisement by the entrance for their tours were not running. We tried to find a taxi to take us there, and the staff found an extortionate and ridiculous price for a day trip. After much stress and hassle, we managed to find a friend of the girls behind the desk to take us there for half of the original cost. It was an unpleasant experience trying to find someone to take us.
The staff were freezing, as were us.There was no heating and our rooms were very cold. It was not until we aksed that we were told we could have a heater and extra bedding.This should have been automatic since we were to pay 600 plus rmb a night for our room. Even with the heater and the bedding, I was very cold and slept very badly for 2 nights.
The water in the shower was luke warm. There were other complaints in the hotel but they were ignored by the staff on reception.
In my opinion, due to the lack of training on the part of the staff and the lack of care due to the owner of the hotel to his or her staff and to their clients, this hotel should be reduced to a 3 star status and think more about the staff and clients rather than of his own pocket. On our floor the corridor carpet was in desperate need to re-decoration. I shall not recommend this hotel to any one.

The hotel was a bit too far out and the room we got was more run down part of the hotel (not like the pics on net) and had a strange smell. We were received very well. The environment is beautiful and peaceful.
The only thing I think could beimproved is the breakfast. For foreigners we will need some fruit and/or some cereals, milk and/or yogurt.
Also, around the area, there is not much shopping. Maybe it is because its new. Otherwise it was really wonderful and I will definitely recommend it to my friends.
