THE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM OF EXPO SHANGHAI 2010
The transportation within World Expo Shanghai China 2010 venues (beyond the normal means of transport in the city) is supported by 5 subways, 2 vehicular tunnels, 1 magnetic-levitation train, 3 sea ports in addition to two international airports. This efficient transportation system allows Shanghai Expo visitors to move easily and plays an important role in the utility of the event.
By Subway
Subway lines 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 (and the magnetic-levitation train) connects directly to the exhibition garden of 2010 Expo. Subway Line 13 is a special line of World Expo: this five km metro line links Pudong and Puxi, right across and under Shanghai 2010 Expo Park.
By Ferry
There is an efficient ferry service that connects the four water gates for take visitors to piers and interconnection with Subway (M1, M2, M3 are close to L1, L2, L6 ferry terminals). The gate for individual visitors is Dongchang Rd, while the other gates (Qichangzhan, Qinhuangdao Rd, Shiliupu) are only for group visitors. The ferry cost is not included in the Expo Ticket.
By Special Bus Lines
To make the exhibition more accessible, many public buses are put into service during the Expo, adding to the regular services many bus specially designed for Expo 2010. In contrast, the use of private cars is limited during the Expo. There are 16 special lines 'Expo Bus' that lead to entry of Bailianjing, Houtan and entry of Shangnan Rd in Pudong. For links within the Expo Park zone will be open 20 special lines during the Expo, while 6 buses will be dedicated to the exurban transportation.
By Taxi
Taxis and private cars are halted 1.5 kilometers outside the Expo Parc. The taxis designated and authorized to enter into the Shanghai Expo are 4000, but after 21:00 all taxis can enter the exhibition area. Six taxi parking stops are scattered in various areas of the Expo Park: Bansongyuan Road, Luban Road in Puxi, Changqing Road, Houtan, West Road and Gaoke Bailianjing in Pudong.
