Better City, Better Life
The theme of Expo 2010 (Better City, Better Life) represents the common wish of the whole humankind for a better living in the future urban context. This theme refers to the aim of the exhibition, namely to promotes the exchange of scientific, technological, economic and cultural resources, making available for the world the innovative ideas and the achievements of technical progress.
Five Sub-Themes for Shanghai Expo 2010
Shanghai Expo 2010 has also five Sub-Themes: the blending of different culture within the city; the economic prosperity in the city; the scientific and technological innovation in the city; the recasting of communications in the city; interaction between rural and urban area.
Mascot Haibao
Named 'Haibao', the mascot of World Expo 2010 Shanghai China, draws its first origin from a Chinese character which means 'people'. The mascot personify in concrete form the essence of people's Chinese culture and expresses the same meaning as the emblem of Shanghai 2010.
Emblem of Shanghai Expo 2010
The logo of Shanghai Expo 2010 displays three people encircling each other, standing for you, me and him/her symbolizing the big family of humankind. This image expresses the principal Expo's principle, namely the communication, the understanding, and also the contact and cooperation between the entire human race. The emblem was inspired by a Chinese character that meaning 'world', the design expresses the organizer's wish to give a global reach to this Expo Edition year, which is intended to host the different urban cultures of the world.
Singers and Performances within Shanghai Expo
The song relative to the official theme of the Expo is 'City' (by Jackie Chan). The song intended to support the promotion phase is 'Right Here Waiting for You 2010' (by a Japanese singer, Mayo Okamoto). Many artists are busy in the song writing and in preparation their Expo show since 2008. Among the singers who will participate in Shanghai Expo are also Stephanie Cheng, Alan Tam, Hacken Lee, Denise Ho, Vincy Chan and Gigi Leung.
