Garden Hotel Suzhou is situated at Southeast of the picturesque Suzhou and adjacent to Canglang Pavilion, the Master-of-Nets Garden and the shopping street. As the only Chinese garden style villa, the hotel covers an area of 48, 000 m2 and owns 240 guest rooms including presidential villas, deluxe suites, mornal suites, and standard rooms in different levels. The modern Garden Hotel is the former villa of Jiang Jieshi and Heyanong, where is also the former residence of Mrs.Yao Yicheng ( Jiang Jieshi' s second wife) and Jiang Weiguo (Jiang Jieshi' s youngest son). On 1952, the hotel has became the accommodation of many country leaders and international celebrities such as the former American president Carter, secretary of state Kissinger, the Mrs. Thatcher, Japan premier kaifu toshiki, Jiang Zeming, Zhu Rongji, Li Peng, Zhou Enlai, Chenyi, Deng Xiaoping, etc. The hotel, covered by thick trees and dotted by green pond, fake mountain, waterfall, and flowers, is an ideal place to business and leisure guests.

Very good hotel all round. Only problem getting taxi-couple before us had to wait 35 minutes from time concierge rang for taxi and we had to wait 20 minutes=in our case only because taxi drop off customer at the hotel. Just made to train station with very little time to spare.

I like this hotel very much. I will recommend it to my friends. P.S. It'd be better if there is hair conditioning in bath room.

The Garden Hotel Suzhou was very helpful in arranging a driver to take us to Hangzhou with several stops along the way.
