70% College Students Want to Travel This Summer

For China's new generation of college students, summer vacation isn't just a relaxing time for sleeping in, eating homemade meals and seeing old friends. Traveling has become their favorite activity during their time off.
According to a survey jointly conducted by the China Youth Daily and sina.com, about 70 percent college students say they want to travel during their vacation. The survey also shows over 72 percent students travel during holidays and some of them traveled more than once during the year.
Li Min is a senior student at a university in Wuhan. She has visited many famous tourist spots since she entered university three years ago. Although the trips costed her about 20 thousand RMB, or about 2,500 US dollars, in general, the girl says it's worthwhile.
Li Min says college students are relatively different from other tourists.
Firstly, they undertake far more challenging journeys, from which they can gain more life experience.
Secondly, instead of making general visits to several spots together, student tourists are more inclined to only visit scenic spots they are interested in and try to explore more of the spot.
Since college students don't have their own incomes, they usually make the most economic travel plans. Some have part-time jobs to support their travel.
