THE head of marketing and promotion for the Association of the Indonesian Tours & Travel Agencies, Mr Eddy Sunyoto, says Indonesia has set a target of one million Chinese tourists a year by 2007. Up to November, some 100,000 Chinese visitors have visited Indonesia, a 10 to 15 per cent increase over 2003, and Mr Sunyoto is confident the target can be achieved. In September, contestants of a top model competition in China went to Bali for a location shoot. "When the programme is aired on seven channels in China, more people will definitely want to visit the country," he said. To better facilitate Chinese visitors, he said Indonesia was looking at setting up tourism offices in Beijing, Shanghai and GuangZhou next year. |
