Thai AirAsia is negotiating for flying rights to destinations in Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia and Southern China, the company's chief executive officer told TTG Daily News this morning. Mr Tassapon Bijleveld, said he was in active talks with aviation authorities for services to Ho Chi Minh City, Yangon, Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kunming, Chengdu and Hainan. We will be flying to any or all of these destinations by the end of the year. It all depends on where we get approval. As soon as we get approval we will start flying, said Mr Tassapon. Meanwhile the company has slated July 5 for the launch of its sixth international service ¨C a daily flight from Bangkok to Macau. The fare for the first 10,000 seats sold before July 5 is 679 baht (US$17) for travel between July 5 and October 30. Thereafter, the regular fare will be 1,000 baht. About 5,000 seats have been sold already, mostly to Thai first-time flyers who want to go shopping either in Macau itself or in nearby Shenzhen or Zuhai, said Mr Tassapon. Thai AirAsia's other international destinations include Penang, Singapore, Johor Bahru, Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur. |
