China's airline companies are speeding up the addition of new aircraft in order to meet growing market demand.
The first Airbus A319 ordered by Air China recently arrived in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province. By 2005, the airline company will have another seven such aircraft.
The first Airbus A340-600 joined China Eastern Airlines recently and will be operated on the Shanghai-Los Angeles route.
Two more A340-600s and seven A320-214s will be introduced to China Eastern, said Li Fenghua, general manager of the airline company.
In recent years, the number of China's air passengers has grown rapidly and the country has become one of the highest potential markets in the world, said Guy Mcleod, president of Airbus China. |
