Armani joins luxury hotels fray

Fashion wizard Mr Giorgio Armani is going into the hotel business with the signing of a letter of intent with Dubai-based EMAAR Properties to develop a worldwide collection of Armani Luxury Hotels & Resorts.
In store are 10 luxury hotels and four luxury vacation resorts within seven years in the most important cities, including London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Shanghai, and the partners' home base cities, Milan and Dubai respectively.
The Dubai Armani will include 250 suites, restaurants and spas covering more than 40,000sqm, located at EMAAR's new Burj Dubai development.
Mr Armani will be responsible for content, design and style. EMAAR, the largest property development company in the Middle Esat, will be in charge of real estate, construction and management.
