Beijing reports rapid economic growth

The economy of the Chinese capital grew robustly during the first three quarters this year, according to latest figures.
Beijing's statistics bureau announced that the municipality generated 215.29 billion yuan (25.9 billion US dollars) in gross domestic product during the first nine months, a 9.6 percent rise over the same period last year.
The primary and tertiary industries are believed to be the driving forces of the city's booming economy.
The first three quarters saw an added value output of 7.74 billion yuan (928 million US dollars) generated in primary industry, which includes agricultural production, up 5.4 percent from the same period last year.
Tertiary industries, including tourism and other service sectors, saw an added value output of 130.48 billion yuan (15.7 billion US dollars), an 11.1 percent increase.
Fiscal revenue kept growing during the first three quarters, reaching 39.82 billion yuan (4.8 billion US dollars), up 23.8 percent.
