Bus Crashes into Office, Leaving 9 Dead in Jiangsu

A tourist bus crashed into a company's reception office by the roadside Sunday in east China's Jiangsu Province, killing nine people and injuring some 30 others. The accident happened in Changshu City at 7:45 p.m., when a bus carrying 42 students and five teachers was returning to Zhangjiagang City from the provincial capital Hangzhou for spring sightseeing. It suddenly crashed into a reception office at the gate of the Wuyue printing and dyeing company. Six people were killed at the scene and 30 others were injured. By Monday afternoon, nine people were confirmed dead including six students, two teachers and one company guard. Local medical and traffic departments have rushed to the scene and schools have been urged to secure the safety in spring traveling activities. |
