China Leads Regional Economic Growth

A United Nations report says Asia-Pacific economies were the world's fastest growing last year, pushed by increasing exports, especially to China.
The report has been issued by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific or ESCAP, the biggest intergovernmental organization in the region.
It forecasts that economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region will slow down in 2005, but still remain the fastest in the world.
The report indicates China is playing the most important role in the region's economic development.
