China's Southern Airlines launches new "express flight"
|
4-Apr-2003 - |
China's Southern Airlines launched a new "express flight" on Mar.30 between Nanning and Guangzhou, capital cities of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guangdong Province. Four round-trip flights will be guaranteed every day on the express line, and five flights will be offered on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, said a source with the airline. It will be the most frequent air route for Nanning Airport, said the source, adding that readjustment has been made over the number of flights. After reshaping domestic airlines last year, Beijing, Shanghai and GuangZhou have become three civil aviation hubs in China. The launch of the Nanning-Guangzhou express flight will help passengers transfer via Baiyun Airport in Guangzhou, the source said. If passengers take Flight 8695 bound for Guangzhou, which takes off at 7:00 am, the passengers will arrive there in time to catch 25 domestic flights to Beijing, Shanghai and other major cities as well as multiple international fights to the United States, Australia and Southeast Asian nations, the source explained. In addition, preferential treatment will be given on tickets for the express flight, the source said. The launch of the express flight is regarded as a major step in sharpening the competitive edge of China's Southern Airlines, the source said, adding that a total of eight such flights have been launched so far to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Haikou, Guilin, Beihai and Zhanjiang. Nanning Airport handled over one million passengers last year, the source added. |
