China urges promotion of employment

China says to realize the goal of working decently is the common wish of all workers around the world and the prerequisite of economic development and social progress.
Vice Minister of Labour and Social Security Wang Dongjin made the remarks on Monday at the on-going annual conference of the 178-member International Labour Organization (ILO) held in Geneva.
Wang Dongjin said for the vast developing countries, the key to realize the goal of working decently is to realize full employment and respect the basic rights of workers.
He said the developed countries should increase the support to the developing countries. The ILO should also make it a central task to promote employment as an effective way to eliminate poverty.
Some 4,000 worker, employer and government representatives from around the world are attending the conference, which is discussing issues ranging from forced labour and working hours to occupational safety and health and youth employment.
