|
28-Mar-2005 - People's Daily |
A delegation of the communications department of Tibetan Autonomous Region has reached agreement with the Nepali transportation department on Sunday in Katmandu to open a direct passenger bus line between Lhasa and Katmandu. The first buses are to run from opposite directions on May 1. The two sides have reached accord on questions such as timetable, ticket price, bus model and the grant of certificates etc. and signed Summary of Talks. The direct passenger bus line between Lhasa and Katmandu is 955 kilometers long, which runs through places like Nepal's Barabise and China's Zhangmu and Nyalam. The opening of the bus line is something many Nepalese have been hoping for very long. Travel by bus to China is not only safe but also convenient and economical. |
