Four more expressways to be completed

Four expressways from Yangjiang to Maoming, GuangZhou to Yunfu, GuangZhou to Qingyuan and Maoming to Zhanjiang have entered the final construction phase, which will enable all the cities in Guangdong to have expressway connections by the end of this year. It is expected that the new expressways will have an immediate and massive impact in reducing driving costs and driving time throughout the province. The new routes will shorten the driving time from GuangZhou to Zhanjiang by 2 hours, making it a 4-hour drive. A drive from GuangZhou to Yufu will only take 1.5 hours. The expressway from Yangjiang to Maoming, the longest one of the four, with a total length of 79.7 kilometers, will be open to traffic by the end of this November. The length of the new expressways in Guangdong will be more than 200 kilometers, making the total length of Guangdong's expressway system around 2500 kilometers. |
