Fujian Province to host bamboo festival

A bamboo festival is due to be held during October 18-20 in Fujian Province, east China. Organizers from the provincial Forestry Department and governments of Sanming City and Yong'an City, where the festival is hosted, held a joint press conference in Fuzhou recently. A seminar on the bamboo economy and trade fairs and guided tours to bamboo processing factories would be held during the festival, organizers said. Endowed with abundant bamboo resources, this province claims the country's biggest bamboo production base. Farmers in Yong'an County receive nearly one third of their income from growing bamboo. |
