12-Mar-2009 - |

According to report from our correspondents (Zhang Jun, Chen Yiyao, Bai Dengliang and Zou Lulu from Guangdong Reporter Station), the well-planned “Guangdong National Citizen Travel & Leisure Plan” was launched on Feb. 23. Zhu Shanzhong, Vice Chairman of National Tourism Administration, Wan Qingliang, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, representatives from 15 large travel enterprises in 21 cities of Guangdong and over 8000 employees from eight travel agencies who are granted the opportunity to participate in the “National Travel & Leisure Plan” as award, attended the launching ceremony which was grandly held at Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, Guangzhou.
It is known that after 30 years of rapid development during Reform and Opening-up, the disposable income of urban and rural citizens of Guangdong Province has increased significantly and their travel consumption power has been constantly enhanced, indicating that Guangdong has had the social and economic foundation in trying out the national citizen travel & leisure plan. According to primary statistics, the per capita output value of Guangdong Province, the per capita disposable income of urban citizens and the per capita net income of rural citizens in 2008 reached 37,000 Yuan, 19,000 Yuan, and 6,400 Yuan respectively, while the total amount of citizens’ savings exceeded 2700 billion Yuan. In addition, a total of 115 days of leisure time in a year makes their leisure activities possible.
It is reported that “one website” (national citizen travel & leisure website), “one brochure” (national citizen travel & leisure brochure), “one journal” (national citizen travel & leisure magazine), “one hotline”, “one transaction terminal” and “one national citizen travel & leisure card” that support Guangdong National Citizen Travel & Leisure Plan will be established so as to form an integrated operation and service system and realize “all-in-one-card” accessible travel. |
