Guangzhou to invest 30 billion yuan in new city zone
|
11-Nov-2002 - |
Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, will invest 30 billion yuan (about 3.6 billion US dollars) over the next three years into the building of its Nansha development zone. According to the development strategy of this southern metropolis, "a new Guangzhou" will be built in Nansha at the mouth of the Pearl River, turning it into a major industrial base. Government officials said the infrastructure project will focus on the construction of a high-speed transportation system linking Nansha with GuangZhou and other Pearl River Delta cities and the renovation of Nansha's traffic network. Other public facilities, including a sewage treatment factory, ecological parks, tourism sites, commercial centers, banks, post offices and schools, will also be built. |
