The
Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)
Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair is returning this year with new inspiration and fresh ideas to liven up the inventory of international buyers. The biggest event of its kind in the world, the fair will run from April 28 to May 1, 2008 at the
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Organized by the
Hong Kong Trade Development Council in cooperation with the
Hong Kong Exporters' Association, the fair will bring together over 3,900 exhibitors to display an array of products under one enormous roof.
Exhibits include advertising gifts and premiums, ceramic gifts, consumer electronics, corporate gifts, silverware and stationery.
The event's Hall of Fine Designs has become a fair within the fair. Its elegant environment displays stylish, imaginative designs geared to buyers who are seeking world-class products distinct from the general market.
Buyers can also explore Kids' World, a well-stocked toy box packed with games, gadgets, arts and crafts, stationery, and of course toys, which are educational or fun-filled, or both.
The Silverware Section will showcase silver-plated figurines and miniatures, fragrance-related wares, jewelry and jewelry boxes, as well as desk sets and accessories. The Ladies' Gifts and Premium Section offers a host of exciting ideas aimed at women, from the practical to the flamboyant.
Now in its 23rd edition, the fair has established its status in the industry as one of the world's most important sourcing platforms.
"It is a great place to find the best gift items," says Fabiano Cecilio Tambury, director of Fabiamce Imports and Distribution, who has visited the fair for many years, and recognizes it as one of the most important global trade events.
"We ordered six items last year, two for Easter and the rest for Christmas, for which we placed orders. We bought a lot and that involved at least three or four containers of goods," says Tambury.
In 2007, the fair attracted more than 50,500 visitors from 141 countries and regions.
Hong Kong suppliers are becoming more popular in the gifts and premium industry. According to a survey conducted during the 2007 fair, 75 percent of interviewed buyers currently source from
Hong Kong suppliers. Among buyers who are not currently buying in Hong Kong, 65 percent are keen to do so in the near future.
The major characteristics of
Hong Kong suppliers that attract buyers are good designs, high quality, competitive pricing and creativity.
The HKTDC
Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair runs concurrently with the
Hong Kong International Auto Parts & Accessories Fair and
Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair, held at AsiaWorld-Expo adjacent to
Hong Kong International Airport.
