|
28-Mar-2002 - |
Hong Kong, Macao and Shenzhen will be linked each other through helicopter service after a Macao air carrier launches a helicopter route between Macao and Shenzhen in April. It now takes less than three hours by land or roughly one hour by sea to travel from Macao to Shenzhen. Helicopter service, however, will shorten the journey to a mere 18 minutes, airlines sources said. Monday afternoon, an S-76 helicopter carrying 10 passengers andtwo crew members from Hong Kong landed stable on the Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport after a maiden flight for about 20 minutes, the China News Service reported. There are now very frequent train service between Hong Kong andShenzhen, the vanguard city in China's reform and opening-up drive. And between Hong Kong and Macao, China's two special administrative regions, helicopter flights have existed for quite a number of years, charging a passenger more than 1,000 HK dollars. One can also spend about 150 HK dollars in shuttling between Hong Kong and Macao by ferry, needing about 50 minutes. |
